According to a customer who has 4 of them sitting on their roof with long USB cables attached, the product works perfectly even in wet weather. The USB connector should be placed above the lower point of the cable to prevent water from collecting in the connector. If placed correctly, rain shouldn't be an issue with this product. It doesn't come with a rubber boot to protect the USB connection, but a bead of silicon chalk can be used to seal the USB connector. It should be noted that the output of the unit depends on sunlight and will, therefore, work better when exposed to more sunlight. For mounting, users could build a frame for the product or just place it on the roof. There have been some negative reviews on the product, where some customers complain that it doesn't work at all and that they were unable to return it even after trying to troubleshoot the product.
