The Ultra Sharp Diamond Sharpening Stone is a high-quality sharpening stone that is easy to use and provides a mirror-shine finish very quickly. The stone is made of a thick metal plate with diamond grit embedded in it, making it much harder than any steel made. It comes with helpful instructions and top-notch customer support. This should be the first sharpening stone to purchase, and the 1200 and 3000 grits are recommended. It needs a little time to break in, but once it does, the results are very good. It is recommended to use with lubrication, and a light mineral, food-safe oil works well. However, be careful not to use it on expensive knives until it breaks in to avoid large scratches on the finish. Once broken in, it works well and can be finished with water stones in higher grits for a superb finish.
