It does not come with lighter fluid, but it's found that the Zippo brand lighter fluid works best. The lighter has a clear and distinct opening sound. Those who don't like the fluid fuel leak that happens often with filled up Zippos can switch the insert to a Zippo butane insert. The product has a lifetime warranty and the brass case exudes coolness. Some people have had trouble fitting their non-Zippo butane insert into the lighter.
