In terms of pulling power, it seems that this winch can handle up to either 1500lbs or 750lbs, depending on how full the spool is. The strap is 20ft in length and the gear ratio is 4 to 1. The mounting base measures 5 1/2 x 3 3/4 inches, with a height of 7 1/2 inches to the top of the wheel. The winch can also handle small aircraft cable. The hook size is 3" with just under a 1/2" opening, and the winch is reversible. However, it does not have a self-acting automatic brake. Customers found the winch sturdy and easy to install, but some mentioned having to make a trip to the hardware store for bolts. The quality of the metal parts was highly praised, but one customer had difficulty finding a replacement handle and experienced poor customer service. Another customer reported that the strap started fraying within 6 months, but overall the product was highly recommended over cheaper brands available at Walmart.
