Cold Steel Axes & Hatchets 001478 Editorial Review

### Cold Steel Frontier Hawk Tomahawk The Cold Steel Frontier Hawk Tomahawk has garnered a reputation among outdoor enthusiasts as an exceptional tool, particularly for those who appreciate the blend of affordable quality and customization potential. Crafted with 1055 steel and a hickory handle, this tomahawk is praised for its balance, lightweight design, and versatility in various outdoor tasks. Users have noted its effectiveness for cutting, clearing brush, and even as a campfire tool. Many owners have taken the liberty to modify their hawks, enhancing the functionality and personal aesthetic, thereby transforming it into a reliable outdoor companion. However, it is essential for Prospective buyers to be prepared for some initial work on the tomahawk. Reviews Consistently mention the need to sand the handle for a secure fit and to remove the slippery factory finish to ensure a comfortable grip during use. Additionally, some users have expressed concerns regarding the factory edge and paint job, which can wear off quickly. Since the steel is softer, it might require frequent sharpening, especially after rigorous use. While the Frontier Hawk may not be suitable for those looking for a no-fuss, out-of-the-box experience, it shines for users willing to invest some time into customization and upkeep. The feedback suggests that, once properly fitted and sharpened, it can serve as an excellent tool for camping and other outdoor activities. Overall, this tomahawk provides outstanding value for the price, particularly for those who seek to blend utility with personal touch. #### Pros and Cons **
