Operating Systems Theory Editorial Review
Androids: The Team that Built the Android Operating System is a book that tells the story of the team that created the Android operating system. Readers who enjoyed the book found it to be an easy and enjoyable read that provides good explanations of the underlying technology. It is also great for those interested in the history of technology and the development of new products. The book mainly focuses on the startup story of how efficient small, focused teams can be. However, some readers felt that some chapters were too short and lacked details. Additionally, the book may be somewhat US-centric in nature, and it highlights Google's protectionist stance towards the US mobile operators. Nevertheless, the book is highly recommended for people who have worked in the industry or for anyone wanting to peek behind the curtains to see what they may be getting into.
