This woodworker's vice is reasonably priced and suitable for a novice or general maker. Although the guides can be a little sloppy and cause tilting, the main screw is well machined and easy to turn. Installation can be tricky due to the lack of a template, but the provided schematic helps. Overall, it is a pretty sturdy vise, but not recommended for a master woodworker. The only major flaw is racking. The maximum jaw width is about 10 inches. The part that attaches to the bench comes in two units, one is 9 inches wide and 2 inches deep, the other is 7 inches wide and 4 inches deep. It does not come with screws or handles, and you will have to make your own wooden jaws. It requires a minimum of 2.25 inches clearance under the work surface to mount.
