Horror Editorial Review
In this editorial review of the 60th Anniversary Edition of Alfred Hitchcock's iconic film *Psycho*, we can see a blend of excitement and disappointment from the customers. The release of this new Blu-ray is celebrated, especially since it includes the much-anticipated uncut version of the film, which had previously only been screened briefly in theaters back in 1960. However, the enhancements promised in the uncut release seem to fall short of expectations, as the difference in runtime is merely a few seconds between the new 60th Anniversary and the older 50th Anniversary versions. Customers appreciate the option of viewing the film with either the original mono soundtrack or a new 7.1 surround sound mix, marking a step up from the previous 5.1 surround. Despite the addition of the new uncut version, many express feeling let down by the lack of significant new content in terms of bonus features or altered scenes, particularly anticipating more comprehensive restorations of pivotal scenes like the infamous shower scene. Overall, while customers are excited to own a visually updated version of *Psycho*, the slight enhancements don't seem sufficient to justify the hype for some, particularly those who previously purchased its multiple past iterations, which have included minimal change. More detailed insights into the restoration process are notably lacking, leaving some fans wishing for a deeper dive into what makes this anniversary edition special apart from its packaging and slight edits. ###
