Action & Adventure Editorial Review
The Outfit [Remaster] is an entertaining movie to watch on a rainy afternoon. The plot follows an ex-con who returns to armed robbery and is forced to defend himself against a bookie. The film is dark and realistic, not glamorizing a life of crime. It is based on a novel by Richard Stark (aka Donald Westlake), and fans of the book series are encouraged to watch. The movie showcases strong action sequences and hardboiled characters, with a great cast including veteran actors from the noir era. The pace is quick, and the print quality of the DVD is excellent. However, some viewers find the characters unappealing, and the film includes some disturbing elements such as racism and violence towards women. The DVD released by the Archive Collection has been reported faulty by some customers.
