The SlipFix Railbolt Connector is an innovative solution for connecting handrails to newel posts with ease. This connector is designed to be used on fixed newel posts, making it ideal for installations where there is no flex or wiggle. The bolt retracts into the rail just below the surface of the cut, allowing for easy installation. In terms of weight rating, the SlipFix Railbolt Connector has an approximate rating of over 200 lbs with no balusters in between two posts spaced 60 inches apart. However, some type of adhesive should always be used in the joint to ensure added strength and sturdiness. The connector can be used on handrails that are only 2 inches in depth, but users need to be careful when drilling the 1-inch hole in the underside of the railing. A Forstner Bit can be used instead of a paddle-style bit with a long point. The SlipFix Railbolt Connector does not come with a drill template, but it has detailed instructions on the back of the package giving measurements on how to use. There is also a YouTube video for more help. This connector is designed to be used for straight connections. However, if one searches for the one called "Angled Slipfix Railbolt", it would be the product intended for angled installations. Instructions for drilling and installation are on the back of the package.
